Nice Big wallpapery image for you, stay tuned there will be some more FanExpo art (sketchs and sketch cards) and a couple of jpgs of the coolest things I ended up with from FanExpo. Until then I hope you enjoy this Calabrese inspired pin-up (its in my art book and I've got a couple prints of it left over if you're interested)

Monstars: 1922-2011. How many can you recognize?
FanExpo tomorrow. I'm gathering up all the art and comics and stuff I'll be taking so I thought I'd share share this. A full set of Monstars that covers a bunch of Sci-Fi and horror movies from 1922–2011 that's almost 90 years of creeps (strangely most of them seem to have come from the 1980's) this isn't the end of drawing up Monstars, I'm planning on expanding the series (monsters from the 50's aren't represented enough) by doing some of my favorite movie heroes. Until then enjoy this small version of the collection, I'll have prints available at the Convention swing by if you want one.
The End.

Never Sleep Again: Freddy Kreuger's body count
By popular demand. Freddy Kreuger's kill list. The Dream Demon proves to be the most inefficient killer of the big three killing less half the number of victims Jason killed. I'll be selling prints of this at the FanExpo this year, if you want a physical easier to read version of this.
Udate: Compare to Michael Myers: Halloween.

Summoning the Beyond
A little pin-up inspired by my listening to Calabrese while doodling. I'm not sure if I'll ink and color this up like I've done with other pinups I've drawn. We'll see once I'm done with FanExpo next week. Check my previous Blog if you're going to Fan Expo and want to find me there.

Fanexpo 2011
So the Fan Expo is only 11 days away. I've put together a map of where you'll be able to find me and Leigh Young, if you are going to the fan expo. What will you find at my table you ask? Well, I'm getting some prints set up for sale and I'll have my artbook of course. there will also be some copies of my old comic books available I'll probably be drawing up some sketch cards, you just won't know for sure unless you swing by.

Halloween: Michael Myers' Body Count.
Since that Jason info-graphic I did for the National Post 2 years ago was so much fun, I figured I'd do one for the first slasher I was a fan of, Michael Myers. While not as prolific or as creative in the murder scene as Mr. Voorhees he does have a certain dedication to kitchen cutlery.
And for those who asked I am going to be doing Freddy's kill list too, its just going to take a lot longer than this one.
Enjoy!
Update: Compare to Freddy Kreuger: A Nightmare on Elm Street
Compare to Jason Voorhees: Friday the 13th

Monstars: They Live (1988)
They Live ... we sleep! I've always been a fan of this movie. May not have understood the whole political angle the first time I saw it (I was a kid, leave me alone) but really liked it from the first time I saw it.
With FanExpo only a couple of weeks away I'm starting to get all the prints and stuff I'm planning on selling together and printed. I've got a series of four Monstars prints that I just finished up yesterday featuring 89 years of movie monstars starting with Nosferatu and ending with Hobo with a Shotgun's the Plague. I'll post a preview of them soon. The prints will be 11 X 17 and feature roughly 25 monstars per page. I've still got a couple of the ART BOOK s available to anyone interested.

Hail Caesar!
In honor of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but mostly just because Conquest of the Planet of the Apes is my all time favorite of the Planet of the Apes movies, I did this little tribute to Caesar's big speech at the end. This is the version at the end of the non-theatrical cut of the movie where he doesn't get all soft just 'cause his girlfriend says "No!"
I'm really looking forward to Rise it looks pretty awesome.

Monstars: Army of Darkness (1992)
Good ol' Bad Ash. I don't understand why people keep calling him Evil Ash, he calls himself Bad Ash when he introduces himself to that little goody-two-shoes Ash. Any how I've seen this movie way too often. Actually saw it in the theater back in '92. I'm afraid I think its lost a bit of its coolness in light of every nerd in the world deciding its the greatest movie ever (its not as good as Evil Dead 2) but I still think it was pretty cool. I still wish Raimi got his way and called it Medieval Dead or at least Evil Dead 3: The Army of Darkness.
I'm not going to bother posting a trailer since I'm pretty sure everyone's seen it by now.
ok. The End.

Monstars: Jaws (1975)
I guess since Discovery channel started Shark Week last night it might be appropriate to bring Jaws into the Monstar Fold. Little bit of useless trivia about me. Jaws was the first movie my parents took me to. It was at a drive-in and I was 9 months old, so I can't really say its the first movie I ever saw (the first one I remember seeing was Star Wars). Any way, Jaws! Hope you like this one.
